I LOVED this book! Thrillers are a bit of me, especially ones to do with crime, so this was an enjoyable read. It was definitely a little bit actionless in the first half, but once it picked up it was great. The style of writing was good, easy to understand and created an air of unease almost, hinting that something wasn't right about the neighbourhood - Hollows Edge. A seemingly perfect town, that has everything planned; community events, even an online chat. The idyllic community is quickly brought to a halt when the Truetts are murdered, and Ruby Fletcher is convicted. Normality briefly resumes, until she unexpectedly returns to Hollows Edge, beginning a series of events that create tension and conflict between once friendly neighbours.
Harper, Ruby's former roommate, is a character you feel for, however, I can't agree with some of her decisions. Some making me want to scream at her through the book. The neighbours are written in such a way that imposes a sense of guilt onto every each one, and as I was reading I felt suspicious of just about all of them. Towards the end, the book was amazing, every time I put it down, it was all I could think about. I ended up reading the last few chapters in mere minutes.
