The "for fans of Dan Brown" tag is, I hope, misleading and I am going to ignore it for now.

This has all the hallmarks of being a rip-roaring adventure story with a tease of something supernatural thrown in going off the blurb. Certainly the scene setting is handled well and the characterisations, although brief, are quite telling and give you a pretty good overview of the people involved.

My big issue is with the reproduced faux newspaper pages. They are incredibly difficult to read even zoomed in to the .pdf format and I suspect they will be almost illegible in the final print version. From what bit I managed to decipher before eye strain hit they serve a valuable scene-setting function so I hope that the graphics department have sorted them out for the print run.
