I had read The Mayfly previously and was excited to jump back into the action with Charlie Priest!
I was honestly a little worried that I wasn’t going to get on with this book as originally hoped due to the political aspect of the novel, as I tend to steer clear of political fiction, however it didn’t dampen my enjoyment of this enough to make me feel like it wasn’t worth pursuing.
Hazel has such an easy way of writing that’s both simple to read but also gripping and exciting! This was one of those books where I thought “just a few more pages” before bed as I wanted to keep going, excited to see where the story was going to take us next!
Overall I’m really happy I decided to continue in this series. I preferred The Mayfly for its story, but this one was still an enjoyable read nonetheless. I would definitely be interested in reading more of Charlie Priest in the future!
