Priest, a police officer turned lawyer finds himself in the middle of a libel trial with a dead witness. As the number of dead people mounts up he begins to realise that he’s in the middle of something much greater.

Well written, with interesting plot twists, romance and intrigue on every page there is something in this novel for everyone. I particularly liked how Priest’s brother, a convicted serial killer, is integrated into the story. He gives The main protagonist a history, the meetings with the brothers brings backstory to the main protagonist’s upbringing. I really liked how Charlie priest asks his brother for advice and his reaction to what’s going on in Charlie’s world increases the darkness - if a serial killer thinks a crime is sick you know it’s another level of darkness.

The authour writes with authority and knowledge of the legal system which shines though and makes this story scarily believeable. I look forward to reading more books by James Hazel.
