The cover is what first attracted me, it's aesthetically good looking and interested me; the idea of a novel about Shakespeare interested me further.
I didn't realise that it was a sequel straight away, but I think even though there's clearly another book to read first I would be happy to read this one as if it were the first; it doesn't bog you down with the obvious fact that it's not the first and almost does read like the first of a series.
In all it's an interesting read to me and I would like to read more of it; I'll probably go out and find the first in the series now, I like the writing style and the way the plot is suggested to go by this little sneak peak intrigues me.
