Didn't settle into this one easily...
The cover is striking, the premise exciting, but somehow I was unable to fully settle into this reimagining / alternative version of 'The Bard's' antics.
Although the style is easy to read, and I loved the presentation of the story as various 'Acts', there's quite a lot to take in during this short introduction. While I find the book's concept intriguing I'm afraid I didn't find it as compelling as I'd initially hoped.
So, I have mixed feelings with this one: I remain curious about Shakespeare's involvement in proceedings and perhaps if I'd read further I might have been more engaged with the characters' lives and their role in this 'novel' theatre.
