What first struck me was the set up of the book into acts and the inclusion of dramatis personae. Very clever for a book professing to be about Shakespeare. The plot sounds intriguing and the style of prose is both easy to read and compelling. Finally, the cover instantly got my attention as it is reminiscent of many heraldic symbols and also reminds a little of lots of epic fantasy covers.
