Missed the mark
As a student of English Literature, I was really excited to read this book, but I just couldn't get into it, to be honest. I loved the idea of it - William Shakespeare and company in a contemporary-ish adventure, but yeah, this book just didn't do it for me. I found it hard to even finish, and I didn't really find myself wanting to pick it back up and read it.
That being said, the characters were generally good - interesting enough to keep me turning the pages, but I just didn't love it the way I wanted to.
As I said, in theory this novel was really good, but for me it just didn't quite pan out. I think I'll reread it in a while and see if I feel any differently - maybe it was just the wrong time for me to read it.
