The title and the cover artwork didn't tip the scales of my attention one way or the other. Nice enough, if you're into this genre, but they didn't stand out as particularly original. I thought the same of the synopsis as I started reading it but then I had to re-read the end to make sure I understood correctly. The MAN is the captive? Well, I hadn't seen that one coming. I'm intrigued now!
