Wow - this is a whole new take on criminal retribution. Jem, found guilty of the murder of Hannah's husband is now caged in a cell in her home. She does not want him there and has asked for him to be moved to a foster "home". Jem, conversely seems to be more comfortable with the situation and tries to make small talk. This is a fascinating concept of how a justice system could be configured differently to the one we know today. It will be interesting to read on and learn more of the lives of the victim, his wife and the alleged murderer. Fascinating stuff!
