I was intrigued by the concept of this book. It seems so unfair that in order to get justice for a crime the victim has to give up their life so that the prisoner can carry out his sentence. If she had decided not to go ahead with the prosecution she would have been free. I had lots of questions while reading the opening pages of this book and tried to imagine what I would do in this position. I would love to know what happens next and whether the victim will forgive her prisoner.
