I have spent the last 10 years working in the criminal justice system with the last 5 years specialising in restorative justice so when I heard about the concept of this book I knew I had to read it!
This book had me gripped from the very first page and I could not put it down.
Restorative justice is something that I strongly believe in and the idea of stretching this to the extreme of living alongside the victim to become surrounded by the consequences of your behaviour is a unique and fascinating concept.
The storyline flowed naturally and although I did guess the ending with about 100 pages to go it was cleverly written to keep the reader on edge.
I would love for Deborah O'Connor to bring out a prequal to explore how this new justice came into practice and maybe follow the lives of the first people to experience this. Fingers crossed this is something for the future!
I have already passed this book onto my mum as I know she will love it too! This is certainly a must read!
