I really enjoyed this book. There are so many thrillers available to read that to come up with something this unique is a real accomplishment by the author.
The idea of a criminal being in a prison within their victim’s home, with the victim having to take on responsibility for that person for the length of their sentence as a condition of sentencing, is a chilling thought and asks so many moral questions. However, that is only one element of the story that the author successfully incorporates. She also builds up an interesting set of characters and cleverly twists and turns their stories between each other, creating a real page turner.
Not a lightweight read but easy enough to be enjoyable, I found that the author managed to keep a great sense of reality despite what could be a far-fetched plot. Cleverly written and thoroughly enjoyable.
