Hannah’s husband John, a Met Police officer, has just been murdered and due to the collapse of the prison system, she is burdened with having to keep the convicted murderer captive in her own home. Prisoners are held and looked after by the families or victims of the convicted, in a custom built cell, which was in this case, installed in the middle of Hannah's kitchen. What could be worse? Jem, the man found guilty of murdering her husband, tries to convince her he’s innocent and begins to reveal what really happened that night.

This story was unlike no other, such a unique and original idea - I loved the whole concept. From the get go I was completely gripped and the dropping of clues & new information throughout kept me absolutely hooked. There were multiple times throughout the book where I physically gasped out loud and I just could not put it down. The narrative switched between both Hannah and Jem which I thought was brilliant as you got to feel what it was like to be in front of and behind the bars.

The ending was amazing, so perfect and wrapped everything up exactly how I wanted it to and ahhh I just loved it!!!

What an insanely talented writer, now off to add all of her other work to my wishlist...
