Wow, this book was a great read and I was hooked all the way through. Both main characters, Hannah and Jem, were very likeable in their own right and very well written.

I thought this was a fascinating take on the criminal justice system and given that the victim has to house the perpetrator in their own home - they both became captives of the system. It seems both parties endured some form of punishment in this context.

I thought the discussion on crime rates was a really good addition to the story and added a different dimension to it.

I found each supporting character added something interesting - though at times their story was predictable - this still didn't take away from the enjoyment of the book.

This would have been a 5* read if it wasn't for some of the less believable parts towards the end. However again, this didn't take away from how unique and interesting this story was.

4* - Highly recommend.
