what an interesting idea for a book, set in the not do distant future where instead of traditional jails convicts are put into jail cells within the homes of their victim, forcing them to witness the fall out of their actions everyday.
Jem has been convicted of murdering Hannah's detective husband, and made to live in a cell in her kitchen, (the place she spends most of her time working on her cake business) its an interesting idea and opens up a lot of questions, such as what happens if the criminal says they didn't do it? would you really want a criminal living in your house? would it effect house values in the area? would you consider alternative justice rather than have a rapist etc live in your house?
ultimately the biggest question of all is who can you really trust in life?
i enjoyed watching the story unfold and finding out what motivates each character, and how a few bad decisions can totally mess up your life,
