Three things I loved:

- The high-concept plot! I found the concept of the prison system based on restorative justice was super intriguing and the world building around this was really well done!

- The characterisation is really the highlight in this one. Deborah O’Connor really took me on a ride!Nothing felt forced and there was great character development - this was a brilliant example of writing flawed characters. I felt like as the story went along, my liking or disliking of the characters evolved and the powerful writing led me to change my opinions quite a few times too.

- It was really tense and had lots of twists and turns! I predicted some of them but didn’t predict a big one towards the end, which is always exciting!

I’d recommend this one to both new and seasoned crime readers. If you’re looking for a character driven story with a tense high-concept plot, then definitely check this one out next month!
