This story is so bizarrely unique and brilliant. The concept of criminal justice reform so that the perpetrator lives inside a cage in the victims house is hard to get your ahead around for someone who lives in a country whose criminal justice system has not changed in a long time. Saying that it's a really interesting idea and is well explored through out the novel. I am a big fan of a thriller and I think this is executed brilliantly, its been a long time since I haven't been able to guess what is going to happen. There are some great twists and turns, particularly around the criminal Jem and Hannah's husband which leave you surprised when you turn the page. The only reason this is a four star and not a five for me is there was a few small holes in the story, mainly around Mr Dalgleish. I would definitely recommend this book and look forward to picking up the rest of O'Connor's novels.
