Wow what a fabulous read! A story all about truth, trust and betrayal. The premise of a near future where victims "host" the perpetrators of crimes against them is gripping in itself. The way that this is brought to life so vividly and fluidly is fantastic. Hannah and Jem are very believable characters, and as the story and the back story unfold it would be impossible not to be drawn into the unravelling plot. In this reality, noone at all can be trusted. There were moments where I literally could not put it down. The supporting characters enable the flow of trust and deception to flex between the two main sides of the story. The feeling of entrapment covers not just the physical cage of the convicted prisoner, but all the characters - in different ways- are trapped by their own versions of the truth and their own demons. A highly recommended read!
