When I started to read the opening chapters of this book my expectations were already high because I'd so enjoyed this author's first book for YA, "Hope is Our Only Wing". This new story appears to be equally promising as I immediately felt engaged by the writing style and the characters. I'm sure it will be thought-provoking in its exploration of what it means to be different, to always feel like an outsider, to cope with prejudice, the importance of family and friendship and how to achieve a firmly-rooted sense of identity. I know that the story would also increase my knowledge and understanding of the troubled history of Zimbabwe.
