'not too pale to be black or too black to be white.' That's a pretty important line because it might be in the first few pages but it sends a message, a message that being different is acceptable. I really enjoyed this extract because , while I might not necessarily pick this book out, it sends an incredibly positive message of diversity and inclusion within in the first couple pages. So as always pretty good.
