I initially thought I might struggle with this book but only after a couple of chapters it gripped me.
This story tells the tale of Tumi who is attempting to make the Zimbabwean swimming team. Tumi faces discrimination and hatred every day due to his albinism. This story is also about his grandmother or Ambuya who shares with him her story of racial hatred in Rhodesia.
The two tales complement each other and the way it alternates keeps you compulsively reading on.
The characters stay with you after the end and this book has very much opened my eyes to things I was not aware of.
A heartbreaking and heartwarming story at the same time.
Thank you to the author, publisher and Reader's First in allowing me to read in return for a review.
