What a wonderfully different story for a book and while completely out of my grasp as a white woman, utterly enthralling and compelling.
The main character is endearing yet strong and you really do find yourself rooting for him throughout but equally the side characters are emotive and well balanced.
The book is fast paced without feeling like you skip forward too quickly but at the same time you’re able to gain a well rounded narrative that keeps you wanting more.
I adore the cover and when I first saw it I knew it would be up my street.
In this current climate of racial injustice, I find books like this really prevalent and important and believe due to the ease in which it’s written, it can be accessed by anyone. A heavy topic that is delivered with a light yet sensitive touch keeps you wanting to push forward to the resolution.
