This seemed a little different from the normal genre of books that I usually read but it interested me to take a look. From the start the author gets you into the mindset of the main character - a young boy who wants to join his country's swimming team. Tumi loves to swim and this is all he thinks about. Now Tumi is albino which brings about its own challenges but the other children just won't let him be who he wants to be. They say he is too black to be a white child yet too white to be a black child and all this leaves Tumi confused and unhappy. This is a very emotional story but also uplifting as you follow the chapters to find out what happens to Tumi and read if he achieves his ambitions. It is set in 2 different timelines so that you can read how people's views change, or not .
