I hadn’t come across this author before, or even heard the name, but the storyline intrigued me a lot, about a young 14 year old child and who has albinism and his journey. It is written from the eyes of two narrators, which works rather well, and definitely helps to keeps the interest going. The tale is set in Zimbabwe as Tumi goes to live with his Grandmother. So the story includes her life too. A very powerful story with some difficult messages to tell. Worth mentioning that there is a glossary of terms at the end of the book, which will certainly help the reader to understand things better as the terminology can be complex and unclear to many. Get over that hurdle and you are in for something of a treat, if not an easy read.
