This is a very nicely written story based on this first impression, although not the sort of thing I would personally pick up and read.

The cover is interesting enough to draw the eye without looking too busy with details and I like the colours used and the title.

The opening initally had me a little worried, with it written as if the character was writing a blog post, thankfully that isn't actually the style here, but a clever addition to add some detail and in-sight into Ailsa's thoughts. It is used effectively to supplement the story.

The story it self follows a girl called Ailsa during her time in hospital awaiting a life-saving transplant on her heart and then her recovery.

I like how it is written in first person and the humorous tone that the author has conveyed. I like how although it's fictional it does help promote a message to the reader.

There wasn't a huge amount of content or hints as to what happens next, but I think the author has done a decent job with this first impression, even if it's not a book I would tend to read.
