Ailsa Rae was born with a defective heart and had many operations throughout her life to keep her alive before she finally gets a new heart. However, while this technically saves her life, it doesn't necessarily make it worth living and she has trouble moving on with her life. Until now, her mother had devoted herself to looking after Ailsa and now she just feels smothered. She is no indecisive, she asks her blog readers for advice and lets them make all her decisions for her, and she barely knew her father, who left when she was young as he couldn't cope with her condition.
The book was quite slow to start but it was an interesting story and very informative on living with and dealing with a transplant.
