Ailsa Rae has just been through a heart transplant at the age of 28. She’s been ill her whole life and this is her chance to start afresh. She has seen what her illness has done to her family and friends and now it's her moment to start on her bucket list and start living again.

Told through chapters, blogs and emails, this is a refreshing and new way of telling a story and one which will appeal to young and old alike, and without the usual sickly ‘everything is going to be alright’ theme.

Ailsa is a fabulous gal who doesn’t feel sorry for herself but puts herself out there as an anonymous character on her blog and gets the public to vote on what she does and doesn’t get to do next. Her ‘polls’ determine what her next move is. Along the way she meets new people, gets a new job, takes up a hobby and starts building bridges with her family.

You’re going to fall in love with Ailsa Rae, whether you want to be her friend, her sister or her mother. And I also loved the fact that it was Scottish … because I am too. This is a wonderful book, funny and (pardon the pun) heart warming. I didn’t want it to end! So I vote yes for Ailsa!
