I was not immediately drawn to this book but wanted to read something different and this novel was certainly unique. I enjoyed the style of writing, that included the blog posts, going back to this time next year and the part written in the present.
I found Ailsae Rae, Seb and her mother, Hayley, all very authentic characters with obvious flaws but also wonderful aspects to their personalities. Following Ailsae's journey after the heart transplant and her recovery is very interesting, she is 28 but has not experienced so many ordinary things in life. You can almost feel her development as the story continues.
Watching her relationship with Luke develop and the difficulties she has with her mother, now that she does not need to lean on her all the time is very compelling.
A thoroughly captivating read that I have already recommended to a friend.
