Ailsa Rae has a chronic heart condition, leaving her highly dependent on her mother Hayley. She requires a heart transplant, but fears getting one due to an awful experience of losing her lover Lennox through a failed transplant. Throughout all this, she also struggles to find her father. Fortunately after years of waiting, luck is on her side and she begins to relive an independent life with her new heart.
This novel undoubtedly touches hearts and highlights the importance of organ donation. Themes such as friendship, grief, life and death are very beautifully covered. I was really excited to read this book, as it was recommended for those that enjoyed reading 'Eleanor Oliphant is completely fine', such as me! I am glad I took the recommendation and would recommend this book to others too :D
