However, Ailsa receives the heart she had been so desperately waiting for, and so we see her build her life, as a healthy and well person for the first time ever.
I read Stephanie Butand's first novel, Lost for words, and utterly loved it, so had high hopes for this second offering.
I have to say that I didn't love it quite so much (it's very hard to compete with a book that is set in a bookshop and is all about books!), however this was still a very warm and enjoyable read
