I could tell from the cover of this book that it would be one that reels you in, not letting you escape until the very end. I love reading these 'darker' style stories during the colder, dark nights, and I knew from the first few pages that this is a book that would give me just what I need. I'm particularly intrigued by the character Alfie and the book was definitely giving me the intense, creepy vibes I would expect. Hopefully the rest of the book follows suit and doesn't lose it's momentum or become too similar to others in the genre.
