I felt immediately drawn to the cover of the book and know that, combined with the author's name, it would catch my eye if I saw it in a bookshop.
I've just finished reading the early chapters of the story and already feel totally engaged with the cast of characters, eager to discover how their paths will intersect and the part each will play in the mystery which needs to be uncovered. Archie Bows (how I love his street name!) is an intriguing character and I need to know what happened soon after his graduation to prevent him from achieving the 'glittering career' which appeared to be within his grasp. How did he end up living on the street, busking for a living?
I enjoyed the author's atmospheric writing, her ability to paint very vivid word pictures with an impressive economy of words and, as a fan of her Cat Connolly series, I'm confident that the plotting of this story will be satisfyingly complex and credible. I can hardly wait to read it so hope I'm going to be lucky in the draw!
