From the first chapter it was clear that there was going to be plenty of interesting secrets to uncover in this book. At the start, Alfie, a homeless man, sends a letter promising to explain his past, but shortly after sending the letter he is discovered dead. Rachel wishes to find out more about what lead Alfie to live on the streets, leading her to Hare's landing, a house full of dark secrets. There, Rachel meets Caroline, a crime writer from New York, and together they piece together facts about the secrets of the house and wonder how this house could link to Alfie.
I loved how this book gradually pieces together new information to give the reader new information bit by bit. I was gripped by the book the entire way through and the regular twists and turns kept me interested. I would thoroughly recommend this book to anybody who likes a thriller!
