The story starts with Kennington police knocking on the door of Rachel - her partner has been found dead...Is it murder or an accident? (I am already interested - as it is set in the part of London I grew up in - I love settings that I can identify with...) That combined with the fact that their houseboat has been broken into seems far too coincidental. Our character feels the need to get away and ends up in a house with a cold case on her hands. Cleverly written with just enough clues throughout the book to keep you guessing. The characters were equally likeable and I liked the pace of the story.
It has been a while since I read a mystery thriller - and this one was a good one to get me going. Highly recommended. I found this an easy read. Ideal for a mind workout to take away when relaxing on holiday ( if we can hope for one of those in the near future..! )
