I read a sample of this book, the first 37 pages.
Rachel Lambert and Caroline Kelly are our two main characters. Both women are from Eire and both are living in big capital cities. Rachel in London and Caroline in New York.
The book starts with a preview about a brilliant violinist who has been living on the street of London for years. Why is he there, what terrible thing happened to make him want to hide away. He’s known by the name of Alfie Bow and has been talking to Rachels partner Hunter who is a documentary maker. Alfie and Hunter have arranged to meet but Alfie doesn’t show, which is most unlike him. Hunter is worried and heads off to work on his bike only to end up in Hospital after being knocked off his bike and Rachel and Hunters Houseboat has been ransacked. What were they looking for? Maybe a letter that Alfie had posted.
Meanwhile on the other side of the Atlantic Caroline Kelly, a lead crime reporter is summons to her editors office, she is being threatened by a lawsuit. She has been investigating an entrepreneur called Rich Slater, when she finds out he has been manipulating his female employees in order to get what he wants and he is now accusing her of tapping his phone. Rather than being supported by The New York Messenger, the paper she works for she is suspended. Reeling from the shock she decides to get away and so she hops on a plane for Southern Ireland to get her head together but there are stories about the hotel that she’s staying in, what are those stories?
Both women end up at the hotel and join forces to find out the truth.
I can’t wait to read the rest of this book, it had me hooked from the start.
