Sam Blake is not an author I was familiar with so I was interested to see the writing style and how the story turned out. The book cover and title instantly appealed as it certainly gave the impression of a good interesting mystery novel, my favourite.
I must admit initially it took me a little bit of time to become engrossed in the book but once I was drawn to the characters I was sucked in. The story starts with a little mystery and two separate characters who become intertwined with the story that unfolds. The writing was very descriptive and you could imagine you were part of the cold weather in a sleepy Irish town.
The story unfolded between the two characters and drew into the past of them both as well as the history of the hotel they both find themselves at. The writing was such as you were immersed in the characters and rooting for them to get to the root of the mystery they find themselves in.
A great read from Sam Blake and I can thoroughly recommend all to read this.
