I absolutely adored this book.
Firstly the aesthetics, I hugely prefer a paperback to a hardback so this was much appreciated. It’s also a larger than standard paperback so the text is much friendlier for reading before bed.
Secondly I absolutely loved the story and became so invested.
Caroline runs into some trouble at work in New York and flees to Hare’s Landing in Ireland where she quickly becomes involved in a historical missing persons mystery. Similarly Rachel finds herself at Hare’s Landing after her home is ransacked and her film maker partner is knocked off his bike and seriously injured. She discovers the death of a homeless man (with links to Hare’s Landing) who was the subject of her partners film. The two ladies soon strike up a friendship and discover their mysteries are intertwined. What follows is a fast paced, compelling and creepy novel with more than one dead body and plenty of mystery. Absolutely brilliant.
