I ended up being totally sucked in and immersed in this book – it is filled with so many different plot twists and I found myself really engaged with it by the end. The beginning of the book can be a bit hard to get into because it is quite full of different characters and backstory and it switches between the view points of the two main characters – Rachel Lambert and Caroline Kelly. Although this helped me to get more involved with them as the story progressed, at the beginning these characters are completely unrelated so it was hard to see what their connection to one another was going to be. With this being said, both female roles are well fleshed out and once they do interact officially at Hares Landing it allows you to become even further engaged with the book. I also liked the mixtures of present-day drama and also the mysterious unfolding of the cold case that gets uncovered and comes in with a bang at the end – once the main threads come together the action starts happening thick and fast and I was unable to put the book down! There were attempts to add a paranormal backdrop to this book which would have made it even better, but unfortunately these plot threads didn’t really develop and for me didn’t really add anything to the story by the end. With this being said, overall, I really enjoyed this book – its well thought out and keeps the reader engrossed until the very last page.
