I really enjoyed the dark room.
Caroline, an investigative journalist, leaves the states and heads to a secluded hotel in Co. Cork Ireland having been suspended from her job pending an investigation. There she meets Rachel, a film location scout, and her German Shepherd Jasper, who have left London to go to the same secluded hotel in Co. Cork, Ireland. Hares Landing.
Rachel however has arrived at Hare's Landing because she was forced to leave her river barge home which has been broken into on the same day her partner Hunter was hit by a car on his way to work.
Rachel's Husband is a documentary maker who was working on a piece about homelessness and one of his contacts from the streets has went missing, and on discovering he had a link to Hares Landing he asks Rachel to go there and look for clues about him. this serves to remove her from the river barge which has been deemed unsafe for her to be in alone.
The two women meet and with Caroline's investigative skills the two embark on a plan to unravel the secrets of Hares landing.
There are rumours of the hotel being haunted and this fact is used to someone's advantage...but its unclear as to who that is or why? as the facts start to unravel the players of one fateful night are revealed and i must say i didn't see the end coming.
A really good read and i would highly recommend this book.
