I must admit that I don’t think the cover does the story justice - I probably wouldn’t have picked this up ordinarily but I’m so glad I got the chance to read the first impression as I loved it! I’m completely captivated by the story - I love the dual timeline, the characters and the writing. Sometimes I am concerned with historical fiction that it may be too stuffy or complicated but this is very accessible and a pleasure to read!
