Even before I finished reading the opening chapter I was loving Phil's grandmother as a character and wanting to find out more about what she got up to when she was younger. More than just the usual role of a diplomat's wife, methinks. There's a bit of a John le Carre vibe going on as well which makes me think this will be a great read.
