From the cover alone i didn't expect much, took it for some romance at first until spotting the word betray, ah something meatier.

The blurb hints at some secrets from the past, and the wartime setting for those is always an interesting one to explore.

The grandmother seems like a fun character to follow, choosing not to reveal her past to her own daughter, but keeping it for her grandson to hear. The grandson as normal is totally naïve to it all, finding it a bit of a chore being his grandmother's chauffeur, but hopefully he grows into it as the story is revealed to him. There is hints of him being recruited for some secret mission that he can't tell anyone, is he to keep tabs on his grandmother in case she resolves whatever issue from the past is hinted at in the blurb? Will he have to make the same sort of choice of betrayal his grandmother must have faced, whatever that may have been.

It's certainly a comfortable introduction to the main characters, and the beginnings of their journey and i am intrigued to find out more about it all.
