I found the book immediately drew me in to the story. It’s easy to read and follow, with good descriptions of the settings.

I liked the main characters, Philip and his grandmother.

The format of chapters alternating between the late 70s and the 30s worked well and I wasn’t confused as to what was happening.

In the latter part of the preview the political aspect of the story is more noticeable. I’m generally not a fan of reading about politics but I’m hopeful the book won’t get too bogged down in political details.

I’m very curious to read more of this book and find out the real reason for the journey to Europe!
