If I was to pick based on cover and title, I would have avoided this book. It comes across as one of those quick and easy to read holiday books that follow a typical formula. However, I was really pleasantly surprised. The story started off with Phil and his disappointment about the change of summer plans. I found it quite easy to relate to him. Then it changes perspective to the story of his grandmothers life. You just know that things aren't going to be as they seem and that she has quite a few secrets hidden away. This first impression has me hooked. I'd love to know more.
