I've not read any books by Michael Ridpath but I think I will enjoy his writing so I have high hopes for this one.
Not my usual read but I like the idea of this dual timeline of the story linking the wartime and a modern narratives, and the grandson/grandmother relationship sounds promising.. I would try it out just to see.
