The book starts off very well. Gets you hooked on this grandmother and grandson road trip. Giving you a very real visual of france and Germany at that time and how living there must have really felt like before the war. However the story turns into a bit of the unbelievable. Unfortunately it dragged a bit in the middle. With very obvious spies. And becoming increasingly frustrated at phil (the grandson) complete ignorance of the situation even though it is clearly laid out in front of him and your just getting increasingly annoyed that he wont stop talking.
The end I found unfortunately predictable which was an utter shame. You knew from a long time before who the ultimate baddie was. However it was a fairly easy to read book but not exactly a page turner, so therefore I have only given this book 2 stars. Again it is a real shame as the book starts of incredibly well.
