Half of this book is set in 1936 in England, Paris and Berlin and the other half is set in 1979 in England, Paris, Berlin and Javea. It’s a great World War Two spy thriller with a unique storyline.
It follows the two main characters, a Grandmother and Grandson, Emma and Phil who are travelling across Europe, following the same path Emma did in the past as a Diplomat's Wife.
The two timelines flow seamlessly together which is very unusual and hard to achieve. The relationship between Emma and Phil is just wonderful and gives you a warm comforting feeling
This book has many unexpected twists and turns which are completely unpredictable which once again is hard to achieve so props to the author.
This book has defiantly made me more curious to read more by this author, I very much did enjoy her writing style and her ability to encore feeling with good characterisation AND plot.
