First of all we are hit with tragedy, her brother dies. I can't even imagine life without my brothers. She then honours him by keeping his dreams alive. (Isn't that just cute!) And she falls in love with a dude and her loyalties are torn. And I'm not going to say anymore because of spoilers but I definitely 100% recommend this book. I love books that are set in a significant era. We can definitely see the struggles and problems of their time and I think the author did a brilliant job portraying that. She goes back to her past with her grandson and they face problems they never thought they would have to deal with. I love the style of writing, I love the era it is set in, I love the characters and the plot twist so 9/10 for me. I think it is a good book to curl up in a blanket with on a rainy day with a nice hot steamy mug of tea. It is definitely my new go to read.
