Set in the 1930' the life of a diplomat's wife is not all it seems. The role is usually to be on show, to be the glamour on the arm of the diplomat in whatever country they have yo visit or are posted to. the role is very much to be seen but never heard. There are two main characters for us to follow in this novel - Emma and her grandson Phil. Emma recounts her past - being a diplomat's wife and travelling across the world.Far from being boring it turns out she led a remarkable and extraordinary life....being a spy, betrayal and living with many secrets. But the past is now starting to catch up with her. Her grandson is now involved and it is the 1970's and it seems the past always has a way of catching up with you. They decide to take a tour of places in Emma's past but Phil discovers that grandma has no intentions of spending a holiday on the beach .....she has packed a revolver. But why, and more to the point who is it intended for?
